Hi! I'm Daisie!

I write songs and play video games and make arts and crafts of all flavors. I like to hyperfixate. Mostly SFW, but some of my writing has adult themes as well as SWEARS and CURSES, even, oh my. You've been warned.

WELCOME TO MY HYPERFIXATION ZONE

What's on Daisie's Mind?

I've been dissocitating my little ass off for so long now, It's hard to remember that I'm real or even to believe that I am. To cope, I drink a lot. When I can't feel what my hands are touching and my brain feels like elevator doors closing on my limp body with no plans of stopping, I sip liquor. When I miss the feeling of sunshine on my face in the heat of summer, sprawled out on a beach blanket listening to Mac Demarco or Mt. Eerie, I drink beer or seltzer. 7am on a Monday morning and there are simply too many thoughts swirling around in my head? Two shots of vodka with a lemonade back ought to do the trick. I don't want to be an alcoholic, I just don't know what else to do. I feel my life slipping by me like uhhhh sand? No, like... kitty litter through the little sifting shovel.
Lately I've been fixated on a few things:

  1. Magic The Gathering
  2. Elden Ring
  3. Art

1. Magic The Gathering

So, one thing I love is gambling. It's not something I really do unless I'm in Vegas. Lotteries are lame and online gambling just doesn't scratch the itch of the 3D wheel of fortune machine after 3 or 10 free Jack and Coke's. As a person who can't get enough of tempting lady luck, I decided to build a commander deck around that theme. I call it "LET'S GO GAMBLING!". My commander is, of course, Yusri, Fortune's Flame. 5 coin flips every time I attack and he only costs 3 mana? Yes, please. Paired with Krark's Thumb for double flips every time and card draw, I can basically guarantee some fun gambling moments by turn 3. Now I could go on and on about every card in this deck, but I'll just put the deck list here. (My favorite win-con is "Chance Encounter" and it becomes an instant win if I also have "Frenetic Efreet" out for infinite flips).

2. Elden Ring

What more can I say about Elden Ring? I'm a pretty casual gamer and thus, this thing absolutely wrecks my shit at every corner. Every single time I start to think I might be OP, I unlock a new area with rando enemies that practically one-shot me. I'm a few bosses away from finally beating the game and I've had the most luck with the golden halberd with the "Ice Spear" Ash of War. I love how massive this game is. I keep finding vast areas that I never realized existed beforehand. I will be buying a PS5 soon to play Black Myth: Wukong, but until then, I feel like I could play Elden Ring forever and never quite get sick of it (not to mention the DLC that looks INSANE from the bits and pieces I've seen).

3. Art

I have a ceasless desire to make art of all shapes and sizes. Lately the craving has become so intense (hence this website). I'm currently working on a zine about dissocation, writing some new music, and just today decided I may try to pick up animation again. Gotta put that iPad to use somehow. I will be updating zine progress here to keep me honest. Besides that, I'll be working on this silly little website that no one will likely see because it makes me happy.

That's all for now, Daisie OUT!
